MC Sai

British Tamil. Independent. Built to be heard and seen.

The Brief

Tamil hip-hop from the UK. Every release had to look the part.

MC Sai is one of the most consistent voices in British Tamil music. I designed across two major releases: Maaru (his 2022 album) and the Vaa Usure single. From album covers and streaming art to tracklist layouts and release campaign posters, every piece had to hold up at thumbnail size and at poster scale, without losing impact at either end.

Two Albums

Dark versus light. One visual world each.

Maaru needed weight. A London cityscape, a black suit, a custom metal-distressed wordmark: something that looked like it belonged on a European stage, not just a streaming playlist.

Vaa Usure went the opposite direction. Bold red, a warm portrait, a script title that felt personal. Same artist, completely different register.

The Platforms

Art that works at 3000 pixels and 300.

Streaming platforms demand artwork that reads as a postage stamp and fills a 4K screen. I designed across every format: Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube thumbnails, CD booklet layouts, print posters. The composition had to hold at every size.

No detail lost to compression. No impact lost to a small frame.
